Should My Boyfriend Wear those Clothes I Buy for Him?

One Side's View: Bella

Whenever my boyfriend doesn't wear an item I've offered him, I get disappointed. Buying items is my way of demonstrating I care

I truly appreciate buying things for my boyfriend, him. It relates to caring; I feel thrilled whenever I see a piece that recalls him.

I particularly like to get him outfits – I feel it provides him a small confidence boost. While I already appreciate his personal style, it's my way of demonstrating I love.

I make a higher salary than him, so it's not a big deal to purchase him presents. I understand not everyone demonstrate love through items, but if I have the means, what's the harm?

But when he avoids wearing something I've given him, particularly after I've given consideration into it, I experience hurt.

Recently, I purchased him a set of jeans. Yet I observed he avoided wearing them, and asked if he liked them.

He came down the next day putting on them, stating: "Hey, I've got your jeans on!" That made me feel foolish.

It seemed as if he was just putting on them due to the fact that I had questioned. To some extent felt happy, but another part felt as if he was acting to shut me up.

I don't anticipate him to put on all gifts immediately or to perform appreciation, but when time go by and I never observe him wearing my gifts, I start to wonder if he enjoyed them in the first place.

I desire him to look his best – so, certainly, I have thoughts about what suits him.

Previously, I tried to remove his footwear. I can't stand them. Axel got very irritated. Perhaps I went too far a bit.

He said I attempted to erase his identity, but I didn't. I only wanted him to see what I see: that he could look wonderful if he upgraded his clothing collection slightly.

He has possesses great style when he chooses to, and I get disappointed when he continues with the same few outfits out of custom.

I suppose that's due to the fact that he fails to have as much interest in clothing as I do and doesn't have as much money to allocate in his clothing.

But, from my perspective, occasionally it's unrelated to the clothes at all; it's about wanting to experience that my gestures are recognized.

I love that he is independent and stubborn; it's part of what defines him. But I additionally desire he'd understand that when I buy him gifts, I'm just trying to bond with him.

The Defence: Axel

I've been alone so long I'm not used to individuals buying me things – and I dislike getting directions what to do

I think my girlfriend's tendency of purchasing me things and then becoming frustrated when I don't wear them is concerning.

Nobody should be compelled to wear a item when the donor wishes. This diminishes from the meaning of a present, which is supposed to be generous.

Regarding the jeans, I only didn't have round to sporting them because it was very hot this summer.

Yet when she inquired if I enjoyed them, I sported them the exact following day.

She afterward blamed me of just putting on them to placate her, which was rather accurate. But my perspective is: don't ask me to wear an item you got and then accuse me of not genuinely wanting to put on it.

That scenario seems reasonable.

I should be free to decide when to sport my garments. She is being very thoughtful when she buys me things, but I don't want experiencing forced.

She said I was ungrateful when I raised this issue, but it's really different.

Bella furthermore receives a considerably more money than me, and it doesn't represent a big deal for her to spend freely on fresh pieces.

But I lack that many outfits, and I'm familiar with wearing the routine outfits. It needs me a bit of time to acclimate to having recent additions in my wardrobe.

I'm likewise unfamiliar with others buying me gifts, as this is my initial partnership. There's possibly additionally a touch of me acting determined.

If my girlfriend sought to get rid of my footwear, I responded poorly favorably.

I really enjoy the jeans she bought me, but occasionally if she has a good idea, my immediate response is to refuse to follow it, only because I've been alone for so considerably and I am uncomfortable with being told what to undertake.

My girlfriend has also noted this propensity in me, and I realize I need to address it.

Nonetheless, another part of me wonders whether she is purchasing me items because she's {trying|attempt
