Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Life
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I will choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.
My son told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
