Dallas Cowboys Player Kneeland Passes Away at Age 24
Marshawn Kneeland was the 56th overall pick in the 2024 draft
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland has passed away at the age of 24.
Kneeland was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round in 2024 and appeared in 18 games for the team, including four starts.
He recorded his initial touchdown in the Tuesday game to the Arizona Cardinals when he retrieved a blocked punt.
"Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organisation," the Dallas Cowboys stated.
"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his loved ones."
Kneeland was picked by the Cowboys with the 56th selection of the 2024 draft after playing college football for Western Michigan University.
His agent, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart aches" for the passing of a player who "gave his all" into each opportunity.
"I saw him strive his way from a aspiring young man at Western Michigan with a dream to being a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley commented.
The NFL said it is "profoundly grieved" by the news.
